Comenius Club

With the Comenius club we usually have meetings 2 days a week(Tuesday and Friday) at the first break. We discuss about our projects, the site and everything that is necessary and we organize what comes next…

Every other Friday night our little group goes out without the teachers. We have gone several times at Friday’s where we eat, talk and laugh loudly(one time we were almost kicked out!!)..We after go for a walk downtown to get something to drink. Once we got lost but we didn’t care! We kept singing and laughing and at the end we found our way back to the main road! When we go out with the Comenius club we always have a lot of fun! We can hear each other’s voices in our heads the 2 following days!!

For the past 5 months every Saturday from 2.30pm-5.30pm (the last weeks every day and on Sundays) our drama club gathered at our school’s gym to rehearse. We were 16 teenagers getting all together to rehearse and have fun.

We took many photos and filmed what we called the ‘backstage’. We brought food for our breaks and always talked about everything. On the 9^th and the 10^th of March we gave 6 performances (4 for our school in the mornings-our school is big and the theatre was small so we couldn’t give one performance for the whole school-and 2 in the evenings for parents, friends and the committee-we are taking part in a contest-) between the performances we went out to have something to drink or eat and ‘relax’. Those days we were so full of excitement that we couldn’t even sleep! At the end of the last performance we went out to celebrate with our teachers. On Saturday we also went out. We went to see another theatre and after went to a place for drinks. We were making a lot of noise but fortunately there weren’t any people at the same room so no one was very disturbed. We had a lot of fun and promised we were going to go out again!

Week-ends!

My weekend starts on Friday night when I go out with my friends! Sometimes we go to the cinema to see a movie or downtown to drink or eat something…sometimes we have parties. Two weeks ago one of my best friends Lydia had a party at her home! We had a great time we danced and at the end of the party some of our friends stayed there for the night (it was kind of a pajama party).
Every second Friday we go out with the Comenius club but you will see more detail later!

On Saturday morning sometimes I go downtown with my friends or my mum to shop or to drink coffee..After that I used to go to my school and practice for our theatre. Our drama club had a on the 9^th and 10^th of March so we had practice at Saturdays from 2.30pm-5.30pm and on Sundays for 3 hours in the morning (10am-1pm)

At night I go out with my friends or gather at a friend’s house.

Sunday…I hate Sundays….They are very depressing because the next day I have school and I have a whole week before the next weekend so there is not much to say about this day if I don’t have a test I read a magazine or a book, I listen to my music, go for a walk or meet a friend. Basically I do anything so that the time passes..

Friday

Finaly!!Last day of school !End of the week!! Today at school we have lessons that I like(maths,biology etc). We still have to loose classes so that we practise the Cypriot dancing. (kipriako zeibekiko). Today in the afternoon I go to my art class for 3 hours(4.00pm-7.00pm). You may think that is a lot of hours but it's the time we need to be able to finish what we want to do. I have friends there so we always have a lot of fun together. Sometimes our teacher gets angry because,as she says, we talk too much!! On friday nights I usually go out with my friends and every other Friday i go out with the Comenius club!

Thursday

New day!!Today at school I have subjects like computers and physical education so we usually don't have a lot to study at home. We also have maths and our teacher told us that we were going to have a test this week. We asked her aso many times when it was going to be she didn't tell us..So now the week is over and we don't have any tests=D

These days we have to practise for the dance we are going to show you in Greece so we are loosing some important classes..(in a way we like that)

In the afternoon I have my karate class from 7.00pm to8.30pm and before that I have a theatre class.I like it because it helps me take out the week's stress and not think about anything else.

Wednesday...

Wednesday...I don't really like this day because it's in the middle of the week and at school I

have lessons that I don't like (eg. religion and technology).

The good thing about today is that I don't have any private lessons in the afternoon so I'm free to do whatever I want!!!

When I am not with my friends and I am home I usually surf the net,paint or draw or read a book or a magazine while listening to music....

TuEsDaY

Tuesday!On Tuesdays as usual I go to school from 7.30am to 1.35pm.Today we all very relaxed because we don't have difficult lessons, our bag isn't very

heavy and some today's teachers are often absent.

On afternoons i have an English class for 2 hours(4.15pm-6.15pm).

I don't like most of my classmates and my teacher so sometimes, I can get bored..=/

Monday...

My week starts on Monday at 6.45am. I get up this early because i have to catch the bus to school at 7.05am and in the morning I'm usually very slow...

My favorite subjects at school are art, maths and history.
In Cyprus we finish school at 1.35pm and have the afternoon free to do others lessons.

Today I have a guitar class from 5.30pm-6.30pm

I like playing the guitar
because it relaxes me.

On Mondays (and Thursdays) I have karate classes which I really like! With the karate club we sometimes go for a weekend to the mountains or to the beach and train there.We wake up early to go for a walk(I don't enjoy that part of the trip) but at nigh we go out to eat and dance!We usually have a lot of fun!!

Hi! I am Eleni Skourti-Cabrera and I am 15 years old.I am from Argentina and Greece but I live in Cyprus. I have a brother whose name is Alex and he is 12 years old. Here I don't have any pets but at my grandmother's house house in Greece we have a dog and we call him "Cookie"(Because he belongs to all the neighborhood, he has many names!).My hobbies are art and karate.I also paly the guitar. When I grow up I want to be a fashion designer. I listen to Greek rock music, international and Latin music(cumbia) and my favorite food is SUSHI!
